Hand Embroidery Pattern Hungarian Kalocsa flowers

Bright, lively and full of joy — these words usually come to mind when you describe embroidery style practised in the Hungarian town of Kalocsa (pronounced: ‘KAH-LO-CHAH). These days the style has become so popular that you will find it at any souvenir store around the country.

Traditionally, Kalocsa embroidery is done with thick Perle (Pearl) thread. In this design, however, I suggest that you use regular thread instead. This will add more fineness to your work and make it look really exquisite.
